We owe it to the generosity of André Saine that we are able to offer you not only the Dunham’s 200ths but also the best machine-made potencies that ever existed.
We are referring here to the Fincke Potencies that were manufactured as fluxion-potencies. They are now available as C200, M, XM, LM, CM, und MM.
It was Dr. Saine’s wish that these remedies be obtainable for everyone and that their price be as low as possible. Therefore all potencies are sold as globules in bottles of 1,5g at the cost of 3 Euros.

Some History behind the famous Dunham's two-hundredths.
Dr. André Saine was given the Dunham remedies in 1989 by Dorothy Cornish, then 94 years of age.
Both, her grandfather and her father, had been homeopathic doctors in Massachusetts.


Carroll Dunham had visited Bœnninghausen in Germany and witnessed the efficacy of the two-hundredths commonly used by this accomplished homeopath. On his return to the US, in 1851, he decided to make his own remedies to satisfy three questions he had:

1. Will bona fide centesimal high potencies act upon the sick people?
2. Does great force, applied to the succussion, add to the efficiency of potencies, whether high or low?
3. Is any force added to remedies by the personality of the succussor; or would potencies, whether high or low, prepared by machinery, act as well as if made by hand?

He described the process of making his now famous two-hundredths in a letter to his senior, Dr. Adolph Lippe.

"Hoping to gain some light on these points, which then were more seriously regarded and discussed than they now are, I prepared my remedies as follows:

Determined to use machinery for succussion, ... and to use a force far exceeding the brachial power of any man [Jenichen] . . . I availed myself of an abandoned oil mill, in which, by water-power, four stampers, consisting of large oak timbers, eight inches square and eighteen feet long, were, by a cam movement, lifted and let fall a distance of eighteen inches. By means of strong, oaken receptacles, firmly bolted to these stampers, 120 vials (more or less), were succussed at one time, and thus that number of remedies was, by a single operation, advanced one degree in the scale of potentization, a great economy of time. The force with which the succussions were made was considerably more than that of a half ton falling eighteen inches; greater therefore, (by a rough computation) than that of six Jenichen’s (or 10 Fincke’s) falling bodily, bottle and all, through a space of an arm-shake. One hundred and twenty-five such succussions were given to each potency."

Samuel Jones told us about an "inside story" narrated to him by Dunham in an after-dinner talk. Jones was smoking one of Dunham’s cigars so Dunham could "smell it." Jones wrote that "Dunham's father assisted him in making these potencies. The ‘bottle-washing’ took them a whole week. They got done on the middle of a Saturday afternoon. Said he; ‘The stampers had fallen for the last time. After an arduous week’s work, countless bottle-emptyings and bottle fillings, there were the two-hundredths’ before us. It was all silence in the old mill. We neither spake a word; we looked up into each others face, burst out into simultaneous laughter, peal upon upon peal, and laughing rolled upon the floor."

In his letter to Lippe, Dunham shares his conclusions after having used his own remedies for seventeen years: "If force in succussion were of any great value, my preparations ought to be superior to others.

"If the ‘magnetism’ of the maker, imparted by the hand while succussing, were essential to the action of the potency, they should be good for nothing; for they were made by machinery. Questions No.2 and 3 receive some light from my experiments; while, regarding No.1, I can only say that, to me, they prove that the remedies in the 200th centesimal potency, using terms as Hahnemann used them, are efficacious in medical practice; for, with them, I remove disease, both acute and chronic, every week, month and year.

"Such was my method. I do not defend nor recommend it, but Crypto-pharmacy being repugnant to my feelings, I frankly state it.

"Such are my ‘potencies.’ As I have not made merchandize of them, I do not offer them for sale, nor profit by them pecuniarily. I have no temptation to ‘hawk my wares,’ nor to extol them. I simply say that—the list comprising most of our polychrests and many drugs beside—I have, since 1851—for seventeen years—used them constantly, and with few exceptions, exclusively, in my practice; used both high and low; for several years the low almost exclusively, then gradually the higher, and now, in most cases, the 200th. Whatever I have accomplished in treating the sick with drugs, has been done with these potencies thus prepared."

„Fincke invented the fluxion-potencies. After having tried out different ways of manufacturing high potencies (...) he built an apparatus on which he took out letters patent on August, 24th 1869. Dr. Fincke’s high potencies enjoyed a wide distribution and were used by Dunham, Skinner, Berridge and Kent, among others. His manufacturing procedure was a continous fluxion method he used until 1905 for the manufacturing of high potencies.“

„In the monthly paper >The American Homoepathic Review<, i.e. in the March issue (pp. 282 to 288) and the April issue (pp. 327 to 336) of this year, there is a most extensive and strange report of a cure B.Fincke, MD, achieved with high potencies administered with an average single dose in Brooklyn, N.Y.
With the difference of opinion over dosage still pending this report is of essential importance, because it confronts us with the most convincing and hard facts that by all means cannot be doubted, for they have been taken up by this review that is edited by only honourable men.“

„The Korsakoff method is not the only one merely using one vial for the entire succusion series. We would like to mention the so-called fluxion method here that came about in the second half of the 19th century. The procedure is as follows:
A pharmacologically neutral substance (water or alcohol with water) is run into a receptacle with an regulator that contains a certain amount of the medicinal fluid that is to be potentized. With this mode of preparation there a several ways of potentizing. The simpliest way is to change the height of drop of the water into the receptacle. With other more complicated techniques the water pressure is varied or the jet is additionally rotated when forced through a fine test tube by means of atmospheric pressure.
It seems that Bernhard Fincke was the first in the US to have such an idea. Naturally, this procedure lacks the shaking, a fact that gave rise to a heated discussion by his opponents accusing him of denaturizing the commonly known procedures. The argument became even more intense because the exact procedure remained a secret. Dr. Fincke had protected his invention with a letter patent he had taken out on August, 24th 1869. However, thanks to the description of a machine built by Thomas Skinner, it is possible to get some sort of an idea of his apparatus. Skinner developed his machine in England and introduced it as a modification of Fincke’s apparatus. In spite of the resistance due to the fact that he kept his mode of preparation secret, Fincke’s remedies were very successful with the Anglo-saxon doctors, particularly in the US. We have seen Kent quoting a case in his „Philosophy“ where the patient was cured with a dose of Sulphur 55M of Fincke’s potencies.

Pierre Schmidt explains in a note: „This 55M potency that was known in the US, was manufactured with a Fincke apparatus. He was one of the first to produce high potencies in the US and he did this with utmost care. However, as he was very busy with his patients he was not always able to turn off his apparatus at the appropriate time. That is why you often find irregular notations such as 33M, 55M, 96MM, 103MM in the literature of those days. These preparations were delivered to numerous homeopaths and achieved many cures; they were regarded as particularly wholesome and efficacious. It was only later that Kent developed an apparatus with which he managed to manufacture exact potencies of 200, M, XM, LM, CM etc.“ (...).

Finally Thomas Skinner is quoted: "It is to Dr. Fincke alone that the profession must be forever indebted for the conception of this best of methods of dynamizing all medicines“, (...)
Similar to the Korsakoff preparations those of Dr. Fincke were mainly dispersed in the Anglo-Saxon world. (...)
Many more homeopaths in the US showed their interest in this fluxion potentizing and used it in various forms when manufacturing their own remedies. This was also the case with Swan and Allen.

Bernhardt Maximillian Fincke, MD
January 7, 1821- October 21, 1906

„Born in Saxony, Germany to a family of eight children. His father was the director of the High School and a musical composer and orchestra conductor. Fincke, "remarkably proficient" in mathematics, left school at fifteen and worked as an accountant, and devoted his spare time to scientific studies. In Frankfurt, at age 25, he came down with typhoid fever. While in hospital he met the Reverend William Taube, a follower of Hahnemann, and was introduced to homeopathy. He studied homeopathy with Rev. Taube, and learned how to make his own remedies.

In 1851 he attended a meeting of the Central Society of Homeopathic Physicians in Leipzig, and met Von Boenninghausen, who convinced him to go to America— the "promised land" of homeopathy. He arrived in New York in August, 1852, entered the University Medical College of the City of New York, and received his MD degree in March, 1854. Dr. Valentine Mott, one of his teachers said of him, "I have never known him surpassed among the thousands I have had an opportunity to examine."

Upon graduation he settled in Brooklyn and began a long friendship with Drs. P. P. Wells and Carroll Dunham. His relationship with Dunham became strained after Dunham's 1870 "Freedom of Medical Opinion and Action" address to the AIH, and "...aroused differences of opinion which led to his partial estrangement from Dr. Fincke as well as from other staunch Hahnemannians of the day, who foresaw it as a tendency to break down the barriers between the schools at the expense of homeopathic integrity."

In 1865 Fincke wrote a text, On High Potencies. Three years later he married Maria Catherine Ficht. In 1896 he was elected president if the International Hahnemannian Association. In 1897 Fincke, with the Brooklyn Hahnemannian Union, did the first proving of x-ray.

He began producing high-potency remedies in the late 1860's, and many of his remedies are still in use to this day.

According to Stuart Close, Fincke was "reclusive" and "little known to the members of the profession in his own city... He was of a very sensitive, retiring disposition, and slow to give his confidence, but once bestowed, his friendship never wavered."

A naturalized American citizen, he kept portraits of Washington and Lincoln over his mantelpiece. In politics he was a staunch Republican. In religion he was a lifelong member of the German Evangelical Lutheran Church. Close relates that Fincke flew the American flag over his summer home at Bella Sylvia in Pennsylvania, raising it every morning and taking it in every evening.

He was an accomplished musician on the piano and the horn.

His death, relates Close, was peaceful. Several days before the end he began to have visions of all the bottles in his office becoming two feet high. "Most peculiar." he said. "Bottles with heads, all in a row, bending forward, and all going in one direction— toward the west— toward the setting sun"
